2026 News

Due to a late cold snap, our beloved fruit farmer—Terhune Orchards in Salt Point, NY—is unable to participate in the Sunset Park CSA for 2026. It was not an easy decision for them and, while we will miss them and their fruit, we understand and support their decision. If you see them at any farmers markets, please be sure to show them some love.

We are pleased to announce that we will be partnering with Migliorelli Farm for our fruit shares for the 2026 season. Migliorelli Farm, family-run and located in Red Hook, NY, has been growing heritage vegetables and fruits in the Hudson Valley for 130 years and we are excited to connect our community with their thoughtfully farmed fruits.

The Roast You Love Most: City League Coffee Roasters now offers roast preference selection: light, medium, dark, or variety.

How It Works

  1. Complete this form by May 27, 2026
  2. Submit payment before May 31 (or arrange a payment plan)

  5. Support local farmers while building community!

Share Offerings

Pricing

Members commit to full-season participation with upfront payment to farmers at the beginning of the season. This payment model provides financial security for farmers throughout the growing season.

We offer a three-tiered pricing structure for Vegetable shares to promote accessibility:

SUNSET Plan

For those making over $50,000 individually or $75,000+ household/combined. Full-priced shares help subsidize other tiers.

PARK Plan

For those making under $50,000 individually or under $75,000 household/combined. Limited availability; not guaranteed for all requesters.

BROOKLYN Plan

For EBT-eligible households. We currently cannot accept EBT as payment but are actively pursuing applications.

Income includes wages, social security, parental support, public assistance, student loans, unemployment benefits, and retirement benefits. Only vegetable shares are subsidized; fruit, eggs, and coffee cannot be subsidized.

Volunteer Commitment

Members commit to completing three 90-minute shifts during the June-November 2026 season, or arranging alternatives in advance.

First Shift (5:00pm-6:30pm): Setup tasks including tables, scales, produce crates, weighing shares, greeting members, signing in, cleaning.

Second Shift (6:00pm-7:30pm): Cleanup tasks including stacking tables, breaking down boxes/crates, sweeping, storing leftover shares.

Health considerations: Members are encouraged to use judgment about participation if you are feeling sick, be it volunteering or even picking up your share. If you feel that you should stay home, please notify the CSA and we can work together to find an alternate volunteer and/or someone to pick up and deliver your share.

Distribution Shift Coordinator

We need your help! Are you able to be more involved this year and directly help your community?

This season, we need members to help us with the two volunteer positions described below. The volunteer positions would require you to be there for the times/dates below and ideally at distribution for 8 to 12 different shifts over the course of the 24 week season (the 3+ shifts required for membership would be included). Brandon Hemmings will reach out with more information/training opportunities.

Volunteer Roles:

Pricing Tier Selection

Share Selection

Members must select a Vegetable Share in order to participate.

Note: Due to ongoing inflation and increased seedling, labor, and gas costs, our farmer has requested a $2 per week increase for 2026.

Please select the type of Fruit Share you would like to purchase. If you do not want to purchase a Fruit Share, select "None".

Fruit season runs 16 weeks weekly or 8 weeks EOW. Fruit shares are priced at $18 per week.

Please select the type of Egg Share you would like to purchase. If you do not want to purchase an Egg Share, select "None".

Eggs are priced at $7.00 per dozen.

Please select the type of Coffee Share you would like to purchase. If you do not want to purchase a Coffee Share, select "None".

Coffee is priced at $15.00 per 10 oz. bag. For convenience, you may pick up your entire month's supply at the first distribution of each month. For example, if you select a Weekly coffee share, then the first time you pick up in June you will pick up all 4 bags for that month.

Sunset Park CSA Membership Commitment

(IMPORTANT TO READ)

I commit to membership in the Sunset Park CSA with MimoMex Farm for the 2026 growing season. As a member, I commit myself to supporting the farm with timely payments. In addition, I commit to pick up my weekly delivery on Wednesdays at St. Michael's Church, 352 42nd Street, between 5:30 and 7:30 pm. I may arrange for a friend or family member to pick up my share if I'm unable to. I understand that if I do not pick up my share by 7:30pm, it will not be saved for me.

The CSA Share-Product Variety

As a member of the CSA, I will receive a share consisting of 7-10 different vegetables for either 24 weeks (Weekly share) or 12 weeks (Every Other Week) starting in June. The shares will vary in size and weight depending on the time of the season and the bounty of the harvest. I understand that although the farmers will aim to supply me with an ample quantity of many different vegetables, there is no guarantee that any specific vegetable, or any specific quantity, will be distributed in the Farm Share.

Shared Risk

I agree to support MimoMex Farm, Migliorelli Farm, and Tello Farms by sharing in the inherent risks of agriculture (poor weather, drought, disease, early frost, crop failure and so on) and rewards (the bounty from a good season) involved in farming. This means that if farmers are unable to bring the produce on any given week, I will not receive a refund for any money paid to the farmers. I understand that CSA farmers carefully plan for such contingencies, and use growing techniques that protect the harvest, minimize risk to members, and optimize the rewards, and I commit to partnering with MimoMex Farm, Migliorelli Farm, and Tello Farms in the shared risk model.
